Our Metals

All our in-house pieces are designed in Melbourne, Australia excluding our estate pieces.

Depending on the piece, we may use different metals, each product page will outline the metal used when the piece was made.

My jewellery is available in sterling silver, 18k gold vermeil, and solid yellow & white gold.

Solid Yellow Gold & Solid White Gold

We use solid yellow or white gold, in 9kt, 10kt, 14kt or 18kt. It t is mixed with a small amount of metal to ensure durability while remaining high quality. As pure 24kt gold is soft and malleable, it is not suitable for jewellery.

Sterling Silver
We use solid sterling silver (925). The '925' represents 92.5% minimum pure silver. As pure silver is soft and malleable (making it prone to breakage), 7.5% is made up of alloy.
This helps our silver remain durable and suitable for everyday use while remaining high quality.

18kt Gold Vermeil

Vermeil (pronounced ver-may) is a high quality method of gold plating.

In order for a product to be gold vermeil, over gold plated - the product must be coated in a thick layer of gold (at least 2.5 microns) on sterling silver.

The gold that we use is 18 karat gold, which is a higher quality gold compared to others.
